Raymond E. Chan is currently a co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Culinary Agents, the leading trusted professional networking community for the food, beverage & hospitality industry. Venture-backed Culinary Agents has clients in over 30+ cities and is trusted by over 2500 businesses including more than 50% of the Michelin-starred restaurants in the US.
In 2008, Chan co-founded Image Space Media, an In-Image advertising company based in New York City with fellow Columbia Alum, Kevin Tung, and served as Chief Technology Officer. The company was successfully acquired by Vibrant Media in 2012. With the acquisition, he became VP of Product Management for Vibrant Media, the leaders in alternative contextual ad products.
Prior to Image Space Media, Chan was Director of Engineering at Inform Technologies, a venture-backed start-up where he led product development of semantic technology for premium content brands such as CNN and Washington Post. Chan started his career at Citigroup, where he eventually became a VP in the corporate Global Engineering group responsible for evaluating how the firm could leverage innovative new technologies.
Since 2014, Chan has also been an active angel investor. In 2014, he invested in Keaton Row, the first online person-to-person sales channel that pairs clients with their preferred stylists. He also invested in 500 Startups Alum, Shopline, the leading DIY e-commerce solution for merchants in HK, Taiwan and SE Asia. Chan studied as a Computer Engineer at Columbia and continues to be active in the community as a mentor in the Columbia University Entrepreneurship program.
